The installation filled the space above head height in the foyer of Langside Parish Church, Glasgow, utilising the balcony, walls and natural light. It drew attention to the words ‘Do not be afraid’, a phrase which appears four times in the story of Christ’s birth. Repeating these words in the context of contemporary uncertainties and challenges gave them a new relevancy. The work was intended to be viewed by those leaving the building, a threshold piece that was both a comfort and a call to action.
